It Is Finished!!

After 4 sessions, totalling 13 hours, my tattoo is finished. The last sitting had Terry adding more skulls and clouds, and coloring in the arrow shafts. He also added more detail to the rock on which the warrior is standing, to make it more uniform around my wrist. I will be giving it about four weeks to completely heal and then I will go back in to see if any touch-ups are necessary. Thanks Terry and Osmosis, you did an awesome job!! Now I can start saving up so I can start work on my other arm. I've got an idea for a pirate scene. Next, I will start putting in pictures and descriptions of my other tattoos.

Tattoo - Phase Three

Here is the latest addition to my tattoo, added two days ago. Grey and black shading and flames were added to the rock that the warrior is standing on. The flames of the flaming arrows were colored in. And half of the smoke and clouds were done. The smoke has skulls in it which Terry did freehand. One more visit and it should be all done. I will be going back in about three weeks and will be getting the rest of the smoke and clouds done and any touch-ups.

Tattoo - Phase Two

I got my tattoo colored yesterday. Terry used a bronze color for the helmet, breastplate, and belt; a warship grey for the shield, boots, and sword; two skin tones for the skin; and red, orange and yellow for the flames. In a few weeks I will get started on the background, which will have smoke and ghost skulls. We will probably also do the flaming arrows and the mountain.

Tattoo - Phase One

Here is what my tattoo looks like so far. It took three and a half hours to do. It has all the elements of Ephesians 6 that I wanted and the verse reference is on the sheath. Terry started with thin lines to lay it all out. Then he thickened up a lot of the lines and then he spent about an hour shading. On the other side of my arm their are flames and flaming arrows. I will be going in about three weeks to get it colored in. Then following that, I will go to get the background done, which will consist of smoke and ghost skulls.

My Left Arm

This is what my left arm currently looks like. In about two weeks, I will be getting it tattooed. It will be a lower sleeve based on Ephesians 6. Ephesians 6 talks about the armor of God, so the tattoo will be a type of warrior with full armor with a background of smoke and cloud. I will be getting the work done at Dermagraphic Osmosis Tattoo Studio in Richmond, BC. The artist is Terry Mercer. This will be my first time at Osmosis, but I have heard very good things about the artists and the studio. Once I get it done (or a portion of it done), I will post a picture of it here.

Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."
